Pole-mounted from any suitable supply or utility boat, a 150kHz ADCP measures the upper 150m of the water column while a 75kHz measures down to 550m as the vessel steams along between 8 and 10 knots. Quality controlled and graphically represented data are made available to the client in near real time, thus assisting project managers in making critical decisions based upon operation- and safety-specific current thresholds.

Webb Research Corporation is an established producer of buoyancy controlled platforms, more than 1,000 vehicles are today charting the currents and in some cases T-S profiles, in the world's major ocean basins.
Webb Research is proposing a shallow water tethered vehicle that may be attached to bottom mounted ADCP™ "moorings" the vehicle will periodically ascend to the surface profiling physical and or Biological variables versus pressure (using third party instrumentation). At the surface this vehicle will relay these data in addition to an optional subset of ADCP™ data by a telemetry method best suited to the location and message length.
The device is intended to profile from a maximum depth of 30 meters, and it is anticipated that that the device will profile daily for 6 months on a single charge of propellant.
